Inspiration: Steve and Cinda Churm

Steve and Cinda Churm have long believed giving back to help others is a privilege to be embraced and acted on and they believe Orange County United Way is an organization that has always aligned best with their personal philosophy. It is why Steve, now in his 14th year on the OCUW Board of Directors, was Board Chair for four years, and now serves as Chair of the 211OC Leadership Council.  Cinda is a longtime leader of Women United and the Women’s Philanthropy Fund, and she helped spearhead efforts to provide vital resources to significantly enhance the learning environment at two Title I schools in Anaheim and Dana Point. As a couple, they are members of the President’s Circle and Tocqueville Society and they are members of OCUW’s first-ever Capital Campaign Cabinet.

Raised in Orange County, Steve, a media and communications executive, and Cinda, a former educator and now a multi-family real estate investor, have watched this community change dramatically in the past half century and with it the needs of many who live and work here. It is why they believe in the programs, services and leadership of Orange County United Way to improve the quality of life for thousands of individuals every year. “Better never stops,” Steve says, “and neither does Orange County United Way. It is an honor to be part of this innovative organization.”

The Inspiration Award is presented to individuals who personify the essence of what it means to be a game changer. Their dedication to closing gaps and uplifting our community is unmatched, their visionary approach is truly admirable, and their passion for inspiring change is highly infectious. Orange County United Way is proud to recognize Steve and Cinda Churm with this year's Inspiration Award.
